The Chocolate ones....

Chloe likes M&Ms. Except the Chocolate ones.

I won't break her heart and tell her they are all chocolate. :)

Glacier National Park

This weekend I went up to Montana to visit Dave since Chloe was spending Halloween with her dad. Saturday morning we woke up early and went to Glacier National Park. It was supposed to be stormy that day, so the drive was very foggy. Foggy enough that we could only see a few feet in front of the truck. It was kind of fun.

After getting pulled over for a speeding ticket (neither of us had seen the speed change) we stopped in Kalispell, Mt and ate lunch at the Moosehead Tavern. It was pretty cool. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks (water for me, Dr Pepper, for Dave) and a pizza. The pizza was a very crispy thin crust with chopped toppings and cheese. Mmmmm. The bar has a good history and has saw dust all over the floor. They had a register from the 1800s (didn't seem to work properly, but it stored the money) and a lot of neat photographs and documents hanging on the walls from the early 19th century. There was even an invitation to someone's execution from 1878. You can carve your name on the walls (we had nothing to do it!).

After lunch we finished the drive to Glacier and by then the fog was clearing up pretty well. We stopped at a couple places to take photos, then hiked up to the gorge. The Gorge is the beautiful place where the melting Glacier runs into the river and it has carved out these neat areas. The water was pretty low because of the time of year, but it was still beautiful. Also the water is a beautiful turquoise until it meets up with the river.

Dave did some funny climbing around to try and get a good shot, so I joined him. I am sure to the other patrons we looked pretty dumb, because at any moment we could have fallen into the icy water! Oh well that is what made it fun.
After driving home we curled up in Dave's recliners and watched a movie called Tristan and Isolade. Really Good!

Then on Sunday we went to Dave's ward. People that had not met him yet assumed I was his wife. lol Of course it was even worse because his friend Sarah had invited herself up the weekend before and people that she was his wife. He politely explained that Sarah was his friend and that he and I were dating. I felt bad that he was put on the spot a little.

I drove home Sunday night through some nasty rain and wind, but arrived safely. I am picking Chloe up today! Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!

Ps. The picture above we did not take, I will try and get some up when Dave has the time to email them to me!

Painting Pumpkin & Making Cookies

Chloe and I did some Halloween activities this week, by making sugar cookies and painting a pumpkin. I am just not ready to get into the whole carving a pumpkin thing with her this year, so I let her paint instead. We made some cookies, but didn't end up decorating them so I only have prep shots of that, but it was fun.

PS. I finally added a few of the pictures from the Cape Stake Reunion below! Click on the images for a better view.

Childhood doll

This is just a quick post of some pics. Chloe found an Angel doll in storage today that my mom gave me about 14 years ago in my stocking at Christmas. It is now hers as she told me I can't have it anymore. That's okay with me.

Keys Please!

A recent conversation with my child:

Chloe: "Mommy where's Dave?"
Me: "Dave is at his house in Montana."
Chloe: "Oh Hannah Montana?"
Me: (laughing to myself) "No Chloe in Missoula, Montana."
Chloe: "Can I go to the Zoo mom?"
Me: Well, Chloe it is wintertime, so all the animals are going to sleep until Spring."
Chloe: "Oh can I go see them?"
Me: " The zoo is not open, so the gates will be closed and locked."
Chloe: "Welllll you can open them for me"
Me: "I don't have a key"
Chloe: "You can call our friends with their keys"
Me: "Chloe I don't have any friends with keys to the zoo"
Chloe: "Yes, mom our friends, you know Anna and Baby Ellery."
Me: "Anna and Baby Ellery have keys to the zoo? I don't think so."
Chloe: "Yes they do."

So Anna and Baby Ellery can you please bring us the keys so we can go to the zoo?

Reunion

So last Saturday (the 11th) we had a reunion in SLC of old friends from the Cape Girardeau Missouri area. All of us at one point or another had been in the same LDS Stake there. There were only a few that were able to attend, but it was so much fun! Some of us hadn't seen each other in as many as 6 almost 7 years. Some like my friend Debbie, it has been 11 years! We had a blast. Most were married with kids, and all our kids got along. Some of us have gotten lost along the way but the friendships that we had were easily renewed and rejuvenated.

As soon as my friends get the pictures ready (yes, I forgot my camera in the midst of all my planning for the event) I will post them here.

Chloe and I also got to spend the remainder of the weekend with the family. Chloe loves playing with her cousin Anna and for the most part they get along. Chloe was really interested in Ellery now (she's 2 months old already...www.trinasdoings.blogspot.com) she wanted to hold her a lot. I did manage to get to hold her sweetie myself, and it was fun because she is making those pre first giggle sounds, so I am sure my SIL will post an update about that soon. I love living close enough to family that they can spend some good time together as kids.

Love to all!

Dad and Chris thank you so much for the much needed early christmas!

Family - Here are Christmas Ideas

Okay, so some of you have asked already and I keep forgetting to email, so here are ideas for Christmas and Chloe's birthday.

Chloe is now in size 3t clothing. Adjustable waistbands are a plus. Shoe size 8 toddler. She loves books, so any type of book is good. Dora and Diego are her favorite things right now, there are some playsets out there right now that might be good. She is also still into building and legos (the medium size from Duplo) are a good choice. She likes to play doctor right now so a doctor's kit would be good. She still likes to paint and color.

She's at that stage where everything on TV looks good, so I can't really even think about what to get her! lol.

I will put up wishlists on Toys R Us, Target, and Amazon if that helps get more ideas.

As for me I need new tires for my car! Also giftcards to Kohls or JC Penny are good for me, but tires are needed like now. lol
