Pre-Mommy's Day fun

Chloe and I had some fun today. We woke up early and made breakfast together (bacon and eggs), then we washed the dishes. She loves washing dishes and I truly hope that it lasts when she has to do it. After a brief phone call to Grandma Sherri, we went to the store. Chloe had some money from her Grandma Sherri to buy me a Mommy's day gift, so we went shopping. Chloe was really well-behaved in Wal-mart while we exchanged vacuum cleaner bags and bought her some paper for painting.

Then we headed off to the mall. This is where the behavior wasn't so good, but she did manage to pick a gift for mommy. After checking the clothing stores where nothing looked good on mommy, and no shoes jumped out as "Gotta have em!", we went to the bookstore. Chloe (with just a little push from me) picked the book New Moon, by Stephanie Meyer. This is the 2nd book in the Twilight series on Vampires. (Totally recommend these books, vampire lover or not!) Knowing that I wouldn't be able to be satisfied when I finished book 2, i splurged on myself and bought book 3. Book 4 comes out in August, a few months before the first movie!

We came home, and had high hopes that she would take a nap. She did not. So we painted a few things that are mommy's day gifts for other people, and then showered.

My close friend Kari graduated from ISU this morning so we went to a BBQ in her honor where Chloe ran around for hours with two older kids who just loved it. Chloe is super popular among my friends and they all had a blast seeing her. When we returned home she finally conked out for a nap and so did I. After waking up we painted again

So on to the painting as i have mentioned it several times. Chloe is a very artsy girl, she loves to paint and color, and create. So when I noticed how much fun she had painting flower pots, I purchased some acrylic paper for painting, and one canvas for her to get creative. She loved it! So below are the pictures. If someone would like the Chloe original on the canvas let me know...if more than one person says yes, the first person to respond gets it, and then Chloe will just have to paint more! :)

Here are pictures below. Love and Miss you all! I will let you know when custody stuff is closer and what plans are.

Doctors, Gingerale, and Bubbles

It's a beautiful day today! I left work early to take Chloe to the doctor. She's been fighting a cough for quite some time. She has a sinus infection, it's not too bad and should clear up. I am also sick, but haven't gone to the doctor. I am pretty sure I have an ear infection, so I am taking penicillin left over from a few weeks ago when I had my abcessed tooth. Saves me a little money for now. I will go if it doesn't get better.

The doctors office trip was quick and smooth. Chloe got her stickers and we were on our way. We drove through our old neighborhood and saw our former landlord on their porch with their 2 year old, so we stopped for awhile and said hello. They gave Chloe a mango flavored popsicle which she devoured in minutes. Then she asked for a drink. They offered her an all organic Gingerale they had been sharing with Deeta (their daughter). Chloe started chugging it! Holy crap! It was so funny, because she would shake really fast when the carbonation was too strong and make a face, but she loved it. A few times it came out her nose. Then she offered me a taste. I don't know how she was handling it. It was like drinking pure ginger! She's just got weird tastes I guess. lol

Then we got home and she wanted to blow bubbles so here are a few pictures of that fun. She's getting pretty good at it.

Fearless

Chloe had her first roller coaster ride today! She spent the night with her Grandma Karen last night and I drove up this morning to pick her up. On the way I heard on ad on the radio that Yellowstone Bear World was 1/2 half today and if you came today you got a 50% off pass for the whole 08 season. So Chloe and I went with her grandma and uncle. We drove through the wildlife park and had moose, deer and buffalo come up to the car. Chloe was absolutely loving it. Then we got into the Bear Section. Wow! Those bears come right up to the car too! (Except the Grizzlies they are behind an electric fence) The black and brown bears though come up and sniff at the window. It was fun.

After you drive the park there are free amusement rides for the kids and a petting zoo. Chloe loved it. The first ride she went on was the type that takes you up and drops you down. I rode the seat next to her and she just squealed with laughter the whole time. (For an adult it was barely noticeable of a drop). The next ride was the roller coaster. It only had one tiny hill, but that was enough for her, she grinned the whole time. After that was the car ride that takes you around in a circle and then bounces you up and down a few times. That was her favorite. Her little bum would fly off the seat a little bit each time. By the end of the hour that we were there she was even putting her hands in the air on the roller coaster and the drop ride.

I didn't have my camera because it was a spur of the moment decision to go, but Karen had a disposable camera so as soon as prints are back I will post them.

Chloe got to feed chickens and pet a pot belly pig, and she also got to feed a deer and feel his new antlers coming in. The deer liked her so much he decided to eat her fingers...she giggled.

There were also 2 baby cubs about 4 months old that were romping around in their pen. For an extra $10 we could have fed them, but it wasn't really worth that. Chloe did try to climb in the pen to play with them though.

It's been a fun Saturday and I can't wait to get the pictures back!

Love to all!

A Cannibal among us....

Here is what I found when picking up Chloe today:

Yes that is a human bite mark on her arm (sideways sorry)
She and a one year old got in a tussle over a chair and the little boy decided to take his aggression out on her arm. It's pretty awful looking but she is no worse for the wear, she didn't even mention it too me the day care let me know and gave me her ouchie report.

Otherwise she and I have been having a good week. Her behavior is not getting any better but I a hoping that the more I help her the easier the transitions will be. Not much else to report on other than it's cold again. Stupid Idaho weather!

Girlfriends

Having a girlfriend who you can call for any reason, stay up all night with eating ice cream and laughing, sharing stories about your kids and husbands, just being girls. That is what everyone needs. I had that tonight. 9 years ago a beautiful person came into my life. I didn't know then that she would be my best friend. But she is. Over the years we have both changed a lot, but every now and then we both think of each other. We don't live anywhere near enough to hang out or go shopping together, but she is still my best friend. She knows me better than anyone. Tonight I made a phone call that I should have made a long time ago. We talked and laughed and just had fun.

Thank you Sarah for always being there for me, even if it has just been is Spirit. I truly believe that the Lord puts people in each others lives for a purpose. You give me silent strength just knowing you think of me. I love you and am so grateful for everything. Hopefully someday we can be those girlfriends who hang out and go baby clothes shopping together.

On another note...the weather is WARM! Hooray! It was 65 degrees today! Chloe spent the night with her Grandma Karen last night and then came home early this afternoon. We spent several hours at the park and also just playing outside in the yard. She brought me a snake from her Grandma's backyard. Yes a real snake. It was a small water snake. She loved it. I of course let it go pretty quickly, and forgot to take pictures. She loved it. She is still asking to go get it again.

Chloe and I have so much fun together. We laugh and play and just get crazy. Earlier this week we had a water fight and we were running all over the house with spray bottles. Yes, Chloe won. I was soaked. :D It made her laugh and that makes me happy.

Hope all is well. Love you!

I was playing with settings on my camera and it gave this weird effect...thought it was neat.

Look how beautifully curly her hair is!

Hanging Out and Having Fun

Chloe and I had a blast at the little family get together with my dad, step-mom, sister who flew in from New Jersey, as well as my brother and sister in law and beautiful niece Anna. We went to Provo where Brendan lives and just had a nice few days doing fun and simple stuff.
